Oven Temperature Conversion Chart
Oven temperatures may be quoted in degrees in Fahrenheit (USA), Celsius (International), or by Gas Mark (sometimes in the UK and France). This table allows you to convert between the scales.
Keep in mind the temperatures will vary between different types, brands, sizes of ovens, in addition to atmospheric conditions such as altitude, temperature and humidity. Ovens are often inaccurate by 25° Fahrenheit (14° Celsius) or more. A freestanding oven thermometer is useful to find out the true temperature of your oven. It can be kept hanging from the oven shelf so that it can be checked regularly for accuracy.
To prevent burns, position your racks before pre-heating the oven. Place food in the center of the oven, leaving a space between the oven walls and other pans.
