Molasses Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups shortening, melted and cooled
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup molasses
2 large eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease baking sheets with Pan Release or line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and molasses. Beat well. Sift flour, baking soda, spices, and salt. Add to first mixture. Mix well. Chill, then form 1" balls. Roll in granulated sugar and place on prepared cookie sheets 2" apart.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until tops are cracked and edges are set. Cool 2 minutes on cooling grid. Remove cookies from cookie sheet and continue to cool on grid.
Storage
Store in an airtight container.
