West Orange Laboratory Building #11
In the West Orange Laboratory Building #11, Edison and his staff researched and manufactured
wax cylinder records for the phonograph.
The West Orange Laboratory Building is not part of Thomas Edisons Menlo Park Laboratory,
the building is from a laboratory complex 10 times as large which Edison built at West Orange, New
Jersey in 1886, following the 10 years at Menlo Park.
This building was removed from Greenfield Village during the 2002-2003 restoration and returned
to West Orange, New Jersey.
