After their only son Edsel died in 1943, Henry and Clara Ford built this structure in
Greenfield Village as a memorial to Edsel. The building is modeled after the second story
garage workshop which was originally built behind their home at 66 Edison
Avenue in Detroit. Henry Ford built the workshop to share his passion for tools and machines
when his son who was a teenager at the time.
