Farming
Greenfield Village offers visitors the opportunity to experience what life on the farm was like during several
different periods of American history. From pre-industrial farmsteads where tools and equipment were hand-made,
to more modern farms where mass-produced goods and mechanical devices were widely available, the agricultural
sites in Greenfield Village demonstrate how farming and farm life was practiced in the eighteenth, nineteenth,
and early twentieth centuries.
The buildings within the Farming area of Greenfield Village include: Firestone Farm,
Loranger Gristmill, Martinsville Cider Mill,
Soybean Experimental Laboratory and the William Ford Barn.
